The thrice weekly remnant of the California Zephyr continued to operate on the Rio Grande for 12 years after the WP dropped theirs in 1970. Seen here, the train is climbing to Soldier Summit and is now just below the horseshoe curve at Gilluly.

A remnant of the original California Zephyr, this train offered great dining and many as five Vista-Dome cars for viewing the Rocky Mountain Scenery. It was the last train to be replaced by Amtrak.
