| The demise of the caboose on the ARR has been somewhat exaggerated. While initial plans called for all cabooses to be retired in the summer of 2009, upper management eventually acquiesced and permitted three to be retained for company work train service. While two were scrapped and five others were sold or donated one of the lucky three can be seen tagging along behind a company work train bound for Portage on this lovely Saturday afternoon.
