| On a railfan trip the BDe 4/4 stops in the summit of Gotthard tunnel at 1154 m / 3786 ft and we could visit the tunnel line room. Here, the man on duty has his half way break when checking the 15 km / 9.3 miles tunnel. A long walking through darkness wouldn't be a trip for everybody. Soon a freight train dashed along at 125 km/h - 77 mph, nothing for weak nerves ! |
