| In one of my first photos with a 35mm camera Soo 2226A leads 787 near Trout Lake with 87 cars on train 912. The Soo F-unit fleet was still 44 units strong at the time, but GP38-2 trade ins would soon start to decimate the fleet. The 2226A is spotless except for a little nose dirt and may have been one of the last Soo F's to see a new coat of paint. The clean units really reflected the Soo's maintenance policy of the mid 70's, something that was to take a turn for the worse as the 80's progressed. |
