Rock Island's passenger Train 39, formerly called the "Imperial," derailed at Valencia, Ks., 11 miles west of Topeka, and two steam-powered derricks were slowly clearing the double-track mainline on July 20, 1966. Derrick 95020 was lifting FP7 410 back on the rails in the days before Hulcher, R J Corman and other clean-up specialists. Spectators were able to approach only so close.
