| The afternoon service from Glasgow to Mallaig is only a short distance from its ultimate destination as it drifts downgrade alongside the A830 and Glasnacardoch Bay. Behind lie the rugged hills that are the last obstacle facing the West Highland Line before it reaches the sea; in just a couple minutes the train's passengers will be spilling out onto the main street of Mallaig in search of home, lodging or the excellent seafood for which this town is known. |
