Remarks & Notes |
Main Street in downtown Elgin is greeted with the 121 Job heading west. Elgin is a railroad town and owes its existence, or at least location, to the railroad and a flood. The original alignment of the railroad wasn't going to be routed into the present day location of Elgin. After a rather historic flood washed away survey marks for the intended route, the railroad sought higher ground and rerouted to the location shown here. |
