Remarks & Notes |
Early summer humidity and haze turn the sky yellow as the sun sets behind the massive PATH Lift Bridge crossing the Hackensack River. This former Pennsylvania Railroad bridge is now owned by and solely used by PATH. While the PRR gave up this bridge in 1961, the overhead catenary remains in place as a reminder of it's original purpose as the passenger line to Exchange Place in Jersey City. The eastbound train uses an outside third rail for power as much of the line has restricted tunnel clearances. |
