| Built in 1961,Class 45 "Peak" locomotive 45149 was withdrawn from service in September 1987.These heavy locos (135 tons) were fitted with Sulzer 2500 h.p. engines.I worked on them for many years and can't remember ever failing with one.Here,the loco,now preserved on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway,waits to depart from the small halt at Gotherington with a Cheltenham Racecourse to Laverton service. |
