| The southbound Guadalupe Turn operates on some of the most scenic territory for photographs that you'll find, with the daylight portion of its trip being along or near the Pacific Ocean more often than not. In the winter months, sunset arrives while the train is on this stretch. Exemplified here is LOF66 crossing the trestle at Gaviota with just a little under 5 minutes of daylight remaining. Behind the train is the Pacific Ocean, which was unusually turbulent resulting in waves coming further to shore than what it typical this time of day. |
