| The name of this station sounds very British. It is in fact the name of a nearby tea factory. The Great Western tea estate is situated at the foothills of the majestic Great Western range, reputed to consist of the sixth highest peak in Sri Lanka at an elevation 2215 metres. Known to produce teas categorised under the Dimbula region, the estate is located at an elevation of 1448 metres above sea level. |
