A trio of CP GP9s idle at Nanaimo, BC on Vancouver Island in May 1975. This was my first 35mm photo of Canadian Pacific, and it captured the classic gray and maroon scheme sandwiched by CP Rail Action Red. CP seemd to experiment with what to do with the "Pacman" logo size and rear striping as seen on the two red Geeps. This dilemma continued on to new GMD power, even after switching from "candy canes" to a simpler slightly sider striping. Note the 8831 has no white sill reflectors or striping.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
