| Just a few miles from completing its round trip to Clarkia and back, the "Branch Train" as it was known to train crews rolls down the St. Maries River Valley on a warm summer evening. Sadly, operations of the log trains would come to an abrupt end the following year, yet another victim of "progress" as the hauling of logs to the Potlatch Mill in St. Maries was transferred to solely trucks. This would be the last picture I would ever take of a train on the branch to Clarkia... |
