Remarks & Notes |
Many years ago I purchased a number of negatives at auction that had been taken by the late O.S. Nock, the famed British railway author and signal engineer at Westinghouse Brake & Signal Co. Among them was a batch of 6 x 6cm negatives of scenes in Japan including a few shots at loco depots. This view is of the most numerous Japanese steam type, the D51 Mikado of which 1,115 were built from 1936 onwards. The highest numbered loco was D51 1161 but there were a couple of gaps in the series. |
