| Fans of the old Southern Railway would be hard pressed to find a branch that feels more like the old road than this one. Watco now operates the line to Sylva, and a couple of times a week ventures west of Waynesville into some serious mountain railroading in the Blue Ridge mountains. Here, train T59 is crossing Dark Ridge Creek as the dynamic brake fans howl, briefly interrupting an otherwise quiet day in rural western North Carolina. |
