Remarks & Notes |
With 18 empties in tow the Winchester and Western "Sandman" begins the decent of Round Hill on it's trek west from Winchester to Gore. I recall scenes captured by Mason Cooper and Stanley Short from waaaaaay back in the day and I see this and think of the ex SP switchers or 8411 with crew members hanging off the front dumping sand from a bottle so the engines could gain traction going the opposite way up hill.
My how the Weak and Weary has changed! |
