A Ride Above Route 23
An unusual Sunday Sparta extra heads eastbound with a crippled NYS&W 3800 leading CSX 2700 and consist of empty Sparta cars bound for the Southern Division yard in Ridgefield Park. The NYS&W unit was set out from the road train along with the SJ-1 power CSX 2700 that previous Friday and was being brought back to the engine facility for servicing having suffered issues enroute to Sparta.
