Displaying the classic profile of an EMD cab unit, MBTA FP-10 1152 speeds through Shirley, MA, on the point of a Fitchburg-Boston commuter train. MBTA 1152 began life as a Gulf, Mobile & Ohio F3 before being rebuilt at ICG's Paducah Shops.
The 70's and 80's were a transition period for the MBTA characterized by an eclectic mix of equipment including Budd RDC's, ex-New Haven stainless steel coaches, and a mix of motive power acquired from various railroads.
