| The Black Spot: While there are a few variations of the AC44C6M paint scheme, 31 of the 42 locomotives rebuilt by Wabtec/GE in Erie, PA feature a black patch around their headlights: NS 4175 through NS 4197 and NS 4203 through 4210. Behind the leader is NS 8056 (ES44AC) and NS 4086 (AC44C6M). Being not long after the height of the first wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic, NS 212 is looking rather bare today. The leader was rebuilt from NS 8965 (C44-9W) in February of 2019 and the third unit was rebuilt from NS 8778 (C40-9) in April of 2018. |
