A very interesting line of power await futures at NRE's facility in Silvis, IL. TPW 1601 was built as a CNW GP7 in 1951, before being rebuilt to GP7R standards. The Holcim 129 is an SW8 that was built for the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific in 1952. Third out is a CN GMD-1 that was built in 1958 and lastly, we have the Wisconsin Central SD35 2500. 2500 was built for the Southern in 1965 and also spent time with the Fox River Valley Railroad. There's quite a bit of history between these four unique units and it's a shame to think that they'll likely meet the scrapper's torch.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
