Remarks & Notes 
The crew has the Columbus turn together, and is pulling east on the line to Savannah. Once clear of the switch, they will back the whole train around the connection in the foreground to the Bainbridge line. Once the power is clear of south switch on the connection, they will pull forward and head for Columbus, again passing over the crossing in the photo. It wasn't as tough as it sounds, as the Columbus turn was typically just a few cars long by this date. The glory days were over for the former Seaboard Air Line routes that radiated from Richland. Guess the same could be said of 5784.
