| Amtrak no. 14, the northbound Coast Starlight, running 5 plus hours late arrives at the Dunsmuir Amtrak Station. Dunsmuir is a true railroad town. In 1887,the Central Pacific completed the line through the Siskiyou Mountains and created a division point at the future town of Dunsmuir. It was a site of a roundhouse to service Steam Locomotives to help trains up and down the grades. Today a pair of helpers are ready in the siding for the same duty.
