| The Empire Builder passes a westbound BNSF manifest on the Fallbridge Subdivision at Washougal, Washington. The train is just 29 miles from its terminus at Union Station in downtown Portland. Instead of splitting off the Seattle section of the train at Spokane during the middle of the night, Amtrak chose to operate the full equipment set to Portland. |
