| "Shore Line East Electric Test Train at New London"
On the morning of March 2nd, 2022, a ConnDOT Shore Line East Test Train consisting of Kawasaki M8 railcars prepares to head west from Track 1 at New London Union Station on Amtrak's "New Haven to Boston" section of the Northeast Corridor. The main purpose of this night's train was to test third rail shoe and platform gap clearances at New London's uniquely curved station. This test marks another step towards M8s running in revenue service on Shore Line East trains.
