Remarks & Notes |
Under a starry sky and in the light of the almost full moon, the full moon train 92657 of the Rhaetian Railway travels from St.Moritz to Alp Grüm shortly after 7 PM along the frozen and snow-covered Lago Bianco on the Bernina Pass at about 2250 meters above sea level, just north of Ospizio Bernina near the Val Bügliet. The train has 3 panorama cars (lights switched off) and is pulled by railcar ABe 4/4 # 53 pushing the track plow Xk # 9144 in front of it. This is necessary because the very strong north wind constantly blows some snow into the track. In the restaurant on Alp Grüm the guests will enjoy an apero and the famous glacier fondue before the train returns to Pontresina and St.Moritz after 10 PM. The red tracks are from cars on the Bernina Pass road, the light at the back of the mountain from a snow groomer on Diavolezza. A 161 seconds long time exposure with very cold circumstances. |
