| NS 276, a reroute to these areas after a rockslide issue in WV, heads past the "Chapman Beverley Mill." The "Reading" heritage unit was a nice little treat as well. This 18th century mill operated until the 1940's and fed American soldiers from the Revolutionary War to World War II. Some kids burned the building down in the late 1990's and a non-profit group was set up to try to preserve what was left of the building and eventually restore. They had to use a lot of steel bracing/shoring to reinforce the facade. |
