On average once a week, on no certain day at no certain time, the past and present align in Chattanooga when Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum (TVRM) freight affiliate East Chattanooga Belt Railway (ECBT) moves freight. Train EC01 has the classic Southern 5000 in charge this day, and is easing along on the East Chattanooga Belt passing the busy intersection of Holtzclaw Avenue and East 3rd Street. EC01 is hauling a tank of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) for JAT Oil, one of two steady freight customers on the Belt.
Selected photos of locomotives, passenger cars, and rolling stock in the Southern's livery as well as other assets once belonging to or used by the Southern.
