With the official takeover date of March 1, 2025, I have been out trying to shoot the Iowa Northern as the CN makes changes to the railroad. Job changes came first in March, and now power changes have started in April. Even the use of 6 axles to the CIC in Cedar Rapids began in April, something that has never been done. I have tried to document history, as things will never be the same again.
The Manly to Butler job rolls south on the Manly Sub outside of Packard. The hefty, mainly loaded train has these 4 ponies working hard. The job worked the CPKC interchange at Nora and now will hand off the train at Butler for the switcher.
