Remarks & Notes |
In August 2008, I caught this rebuilt locomotive sitting at the Pickens Railroad interchange with Norfolk Southern. It is a product of the Chattahoochee Locomotive Company which at the time was located at the end of the original Piclens Railway line prior to that railroad being abandoed. It is powered by a Detroit Diesel prime mover and its one of 2 such units built for Alcoa Terminal at the time. They erre built on modified GP9 frames which were cut, shortened and had new center sections added. |
