Remarks & Notes |
In 1914 the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway had one of its joint owners, The Midland Railway build it some 2-8-0 goods engines, the success of the design lead to a second batch being delivered in 1925 making a total of 11 locomotives. Two have survived into preservation. Here is a shot of 53809 during a visit to the Bluebell line speeding up the 1:75 bank to Horsted Keynes. I choose 1/15th sec shutter speed to try togive a realistic blur to the train which was moving at about 20mph. |
