Remarks & Notes |
The Iowa Northern went out for the 3rd time this week with their new Jordan Spreader. The 1st 2 times they did the Manly Sub around Nora Springs. Today's agenda was the Oelwein Sub from Dewar to Oelwein. They went to work at 4am at Bryant Yard in Waterloo and worked out to Oelwein by 2pm, pushing drifts back on roughly 19 miles of railroad.
With the drone I wanted to try different stuff with the plows this winter. I always enjoyed winter time snow fighting operations, and the drone opens up some different things you can't do at a grade crossing. Love or hate it, I think some of it is kind of neat! Here is a high view of the plow drifting north between Dunkerton and Fairbank.
