| In order to make fewer fuel stops, EL ordered locomotives with larger fuel tanks. The SDP45 was available from EMD as a passenger equipped unit like the ones for SP and GN but that was a way for EL to get larger fuel tanks on a locomotive. No passenger equipment was installed on these units. |
