Remarks & Notes
Mainline Maintenance. A Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) work train led by UTV8 is seen rounding the curve west of Journal Square Transportation Center as it hustles back to Harrison Yard. The right-of-way through here was originally the Pennsylvania Railroad main line to Exchange Place terminal on the west shore of the Hudson River. Nowadays PATH operates the southern two tracks, while the northern two are used by Conrail for freight moves.
