For some reason this shot makes me think of the entrances to "Chinatown" in some large US cities; interesting structure.

The United States really needs to wake up and spend the required money to start our own high speed rail lines. The examples of various European countries and what they were able to do with more limited resources than the USA, demonstrates what can be done and that our country really needs to follow their example. I mean seriously, if England can find the financial resources to build and upgrade several high speed routes, then the USA surely can. I've rode on a couple of those beautiful trains in England and France and the effort to build them is well worth the money, time and trouble. Gorgeous photo by the way. Nice contrast between the new train set and the older "gritty" signal tower. I noticed that the passenger cars are not articulated like on other train sets like the Thalys, Eurostar and TGV. Is that to increase the flexibility of the cars to accommodate varying volumes of passengers on other train sets and/or during maintenance?

Impressive structures! Given the state of repair for them, is it safe to assume they are not longer in use? Would be nice to somehow see one preserved somehow, or find some other use for the structure to keep it in good repair.
