Looks like an SDP40. Has that been rebuilt to SD45-2 standards?

The engine is an SD45-2 that I believe lost its flares at sometime in its life. It was built for the Eire Lackawanna.

Interesting locomotive. Just looked it up and it started as EL SDP45 3657. Rebuilt by EL with an SD45-2 hood and dash 2 electrical after a wreck. Became Conrail 6688 and has changed ownership many times since. But in this photo it looks like it has a forty series radiator, but now I see it's just an obstruction by a tree causing it to look like that. Very nice photo by the way.

This picture does a wonderful job of showing how bone-chillingly cold it must have been out there. Beautiful snap.
