Funny you say that. When my dad was alive, we used to always stop at Mattawana and watch a few trains before continuing on to horseshoe curve. He used to say exactly the same thing “ that house is a rail fans paradise “. Thanks for posting. Miss you pop.

Winterize that porch, especially then upstairs part, and you could watch trains all year long in complete comfort.

I agree with J.R. If you closed in the upper porch with large windows, it would be like having your own "tower", which you could then name whatever you wanted.
