Just my opinion, but as a non-professional, that seems like a waste of capacity, unless their specific goal is to keep separate arrival and departure platforms. Why not have have the train go to whichever platform is open, arrive/depart from the same platform, and just use the crossovers either upon arrival or departure as needed without any extra reversing moves -- like NYC MTA...? Electronic information screens would advise passengers of which train/platform departs next.
